ENTREPRENEURIAL STORY

Since Childhood, Pooja always wanted to do good for society and therefore got involved in various welfare activities. Her aim initially was to open an NGO but her exposure at the master's level at TISS Tuljapur gave a new perspective to solve issues of the society.
Every day we hear news related to the overexploitation of resources cosmetic industry and its adverse effect on our environment. She wanted to change this view and help people understand that we can find useful efficient items in even the Beauty industry.
Donkey Milk is not a new concept, it was used in the Egyptian regime by Queen Cleopatra who was popular for her eternal beauty and glows. Pooja used this concept for her startup. So that, After completing her studies Pooja founded Organiko in 2018 as a part of her pilot project and found her passion in it.  In India, Major orders come from different villages and cities in South India and metro cities of North India. She strongly feels that there is a big potential for this item, especially in the Indian market.

The goals and purpose of this startup are different from others. The startup strongly believes that generally, commercial startups tend to focus on profit, with less focus on the harm they do to the environment during the process. Organiko is impacting the Indian Economy in a dual effect manner, where both the customers and the people of the marginalized section of the society are getting benefited at the same time.
The aim of Organiko is to change individual's perceptions towards the available yet untapped resources such as donkey milk for sustainable development. They are creating livelihood opportunities for the donkey owners community by using donkey milk to make skincare items. This milk is known for its natural anti-aging components.

Passion and diligence are two attributes that I believe most reflect me as an individual. It is my belief that this is the key to being successful in any endeavor that one set’s their mind to.
