Sameer Nigam is the Co-founder and CEO of PhonePe. It is an online money transaction and money transfer app. He is from Bengaluru, India.

EDUCATION
Sameer earned his high school education from DPS Noida high school. Then, He studied in University of Mumbai for BE, and computer engineering. After that he studied in University of Arizona for MS and computer science. And he completed his education from The Wharton School for MBA and entrepreneurship.

ENTREPRENEUR STORY
Sameer Nigam founded PhonePe in 2015. He launched a low-cost POS device in India. The hardware uses Bluetooth connectivity and enables payments through all the mobile devices that can access the PhonePe app.
In 2018, They did the partnership with Freecharge. After a couple of months, he expand their business and did partnerships with RedBus, Ola, Goibibo, Swiggy along with 180 consumer brands.
They did not satisfied with their success. So, In 2019, PhonePe launched tax-saving funds to help customer minimize their tax burden. And slowly PhonePe became the first payment app to allow customers to make bids for initial public offering through the UPI platform.

Then, They gave a chatting feature and in the COVID-19 pandemic situation, they provide insurance for hospitalization. In the last PhonePe launched domestic multi-trip insurance to cover all risks associated with all modes of travel within India at an affordable annual premium.
