ENTREPRENEURIAL JOURNEY

Bandana comes from a very small town Thakurganj of Bihar and technically, she never went to school after the 8th standard except for exams. She was asked to get married at the age of 16 by her family and when she finally convinced them to let her study, her mother died and because of the situation, she became a homemaker.
Bandana did think that the course of her life was charted, however, destiny had its plan. She got married and moved out from the village, and to get admission into J J School of Arts in Mumbai. Her husband was great support for her. But getting into the renowned school was not easy.
She went to various coaching classes in Delhi; they said they could help her into any college but not this one. Others told her that only one in a thousand artists is successful; others remain dependent on their families.
Bandana Jain's hard work and determination paid off. She creaked the exam and got into the course of applied art and after passing out from college in 2012, her husband bought a house. And as an artist, she was keen to decorate the house. She could experiment with different things. Then, she recalled the corrugated cardboard project that she could not start on in college, finally gave it try.

People took to this idea almost immediately. From the very first day, her cardboard creation generated a lot of interest. Bandana was flooded with compliments and blessings. People thanked her to introducing beautiful and sustainable creations to the market.
Later, Bandana started her studio in 2013 and named it after the Roman God, Sylvanus, who projects the jungle and those living around it. At this studio, she tries to project the concrete jungle. Being an environment-loving designer, she works with recycled corrugated cardboard and makes sustainable products.
Bandana designs and sells eco-friendly, handcrafted lamps and furniture through her design label. And apart from being sustainable, the products at Sylvan Studio empower women who live on the outskirts of Mumbai by providing them with financial independence.
Bandana’s artwork has been highly recognized by the well-known personalities and art connoisseurs in the industry. Through her art Bandana, wants to create a powerful social impact. In her field, she is a noted personality who is very observant of the world of Contemporary Art. Her interest lies in traveling, covering almost 20 countries & exploring various vegetarian cuisines around the world. As a sustainable art enthusiast, Bandana elevates Indian Heritage and Culture.
