EDUCATION

    Prashant earned his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University. Then, he completed his Master of Design from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.

SUCCESS STORY

   After completing his studies, Prashant worked on ChatOn Messenger and TizenOS at Samsung R&D. Afterward, he joined Microsoft R&D and worked on Cortana. 
    Then, Prashant co-founded 'Trell' with a couple of alumni from IIT Bombay in 2016. Trell is a lifestyle content, community, and commerce platform. But, after five years, he exited the Trell.
    Then, Prashant launched the AppForBharat in 2020. This startup developed a range of apps for the spiritual and devotional needs of billion of Indian users. This spiritual-tech startup offers spiritual, devotional, well-being, meditational tools, community, and services.
    He started this startup when he saw the under-served needs of Indian users. People were looking for spirituality platforms but no one product catering to this need existed. 
    Prashant decided to make their devotional journey peaceful and content. This second-time entrepreneur founded AppsForBharat and built high-quality products assisting users in their practices. The largely offline act of daily prayers has been shifted online through their mobile and web apps. 

    Their first app, Sri Mandir was launched in 2020, It offers the feature to create virtual shrines, consume devotional content, connect with prayer groups, and access spiritual texts, scriptures, and videos. 
   The app has 4M+ downloads and 2 million monthly active users. 80% of the users are aged above 30 and 25% are above 50.
    AppsForBharat offers free app services. It will introduce a freemium model in the future. It has raised total funding of $23.7 million. The funds will create content, build products, and hire talent across product, data, and engineering verticals. It plans to reach 50-100 million users in the next three years.
    The company will also create apps for different religions and faiths in India. It will launch similar apps for Hinduism, Sikhism, Buddhism, and Islam in the next two years.
